Where did you grow up and go to school?
I’m originally from the South Shore area of Massachusetts, but I grew up and went to school in North Conway, New Hampshire. I lived in the White Mountains for about 15 years before relocating to Saco with my husband last year. Though the area was beautiful, you can’t beat being by the beach!
What prompted you to seek employment with York County Government?
I’ve worked in public safety for almost ten years, and I wanted a role that still kept me connected to helping people – but also gave me a better balance between work and home life. This felt like the perfect fit for both!
How long have you worked for county government and in what capacities? What is your current title?
I joined York County in July and currently serve as the Emergency Management Coordinator. It’s been a great transition so far!
What did you do before joining York County Government?
Before coming to YCEMA, I spent about eight years as a Public Safety Dispatcher with the Conway Police Department in New Hampshire, and then worked briefly for the Biddeford Police Department before making the move to emergency management.
What do you like most about your current job?
I love that I still get to be involved in the community and play a part in keeping people safe and prepared. Making a difference – even in small ways – is what’s always kept me passionate about this field.
When you’re not working, what do you like to do?
When I’m off the clock, you can usually find me on an adventure with my husband and our two Golden Retrievers! We’re big animal lovers – we also have two very spoiled Maine Coon cats — and we love spending time outdoors hiking, camping, or taking the motorcycle out for a ride.
