This program is a train-the-trainer program which is designed to teach the necessary instructional methodology in order to successfully deliver the following programs within your own agency. Upon completion, an instructor kit will be provided.

Prerequisites: Fire Officer I, Fire Instructor I, 5-years fire service experience. Priority will be given to officers in rank.

Fee:  York County Departments: $875, Outside York County $975, Outside Maine $1075.

Fire Service Communications

Effective communications is a critical component of fire service operations. It provides the vital link between citizens and responders. This course continues to advance fire communications training, improving service to the caller and increasing safety of the field responders. This dynamic course covers the terms, techniques, and technologies required for excellence in fire service call-taking and dispatch. There is also a strong focus on incident types and the pertinent information needed for dispatch in these situations.

  1. Download the HAZMAT Training Request

  2. Complete the HAZMAT Training Request form and email it to firetrain@yorkcountymaine.gov or fax it to 207-324-4997 or by US mail to York County Fire/EMS Office, 149 Jordan Springs Rd, Alfred, ME 04002.
