Project Home Front. First Responder Resilience and Wellness Program

Providing monthly training on various topics regarding first responder readiness. Training provided is for all types of first responders (Corrections, Fire, EMS, Dispatch, Police, etc.). Training is intended for first responders and their significant others and support system.

Emergency Medical Technician (Basic)

Class Meeting Times: Tuesday Evening Lecture: 5pm - 9pm and Monday Lab 8am - 4pm

Eligibility Requirements: Maine Resident, High school diploma or equivalent, at least 18+ before the start of the training.

Fee: Free. Funding for this EMT program is generously funded by a Harold Alfond Grant and the Maine Jobs and Recovery Plan.

Course meets NFPA 1021. Pro Board Exam will be administered. 

Minimum/Maximum 12/15 students.

Prerequisites: Fire Officer II, Fire Instructor I (Both Pro Board).

Maine Fire Chiefs’ Workshop

Dates:  April 16 & 17. 0800-1700.

Instructor: Maine Fire Chiefs’ Association/Maine Fire Service Institute

Course Info:  Provides current, new and aspiring Fire Chiefs with an understanding of important considerations for the delivery of fire protection services in their community. The 

workshop will provide information to assist in the management and leadership of a fire department in Maine.

Fee: $75.  Free if you attend following Incident Safety Officer course on 4/14 & 15.

Basics of Community Risk Reduction

Course Info: Explore risk-reduction programs and learn nationally recognized principles and best practices that can lead to community risk reduction programs that can measure success in local communities.
