​RESERVE/STAFF FIRE INSTRUCTORS

The York County RTC has limited opportunities for reserve fire instructors. Reserve/Staff Fire Instructors must be Pro Board-certified fire instructors. These reserve employees manage, coordinate, or lead courses of instruction at the RTC.  To inquire on these positions please visit www.yorkcountymaine.gov/careers  or email firetrain@yorkcountymaine.gov

ASSISTANT FIRE INSTRUCTORS/SPONSORED MUNICIPAL FIRE INSTRUCTORS

To be eligible for assistant fire instructor opportunities at the RTC, you must be a Pro Board-Certified Fire Instructor I and employed and sponsored by a local fire department. To be considered for eligibility please complete the Instructor Eligibility Application Form https://forms.office.com/r/G4vgeMeQ9L

 

Once a fire instructor’s eligibility is determined by RTC staff, that instructor will be added to the eligibility list. Once on the list, lead instructors will draw their assistant fire instructors from that list.

When you’ve been requested, and agree to instruct a course, your Fire Chief (or designee) will need to provide authorization.  This is required to ensure you are paid by your employer; your employer covers your workers’ compensation and provides your PPE.  The Fire Chief’s Authorization/Verification Form can be found at this link https://forms.office.com/r/vdyhhHbTsM

 

FIRE CHIEFS: After your employee has completed teaching for the RTC, you or your designee must complete this form Fire Chief’s Request for Instructor Reimbursement this form https://forms.office.com/r/K8PDVfRdmm to receive reimbursement.
