Deputy County Manager / HR Director


Where did you grow up and go to school?

 

I grew up in Berwick, Maine. I graduated from Noble High School. I have an associate degree in criminal justice; a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies; and most recently, a master’s degree in public administration from Purdue Global.


What prompted you to decide to seek employment with York County Maine Government?


I was drawn to the diversity of human resources within the public sector and the opportunity to work with some great people and expand my knowledge and experience. Additionally, I wanted to remain in southern Maine to be closer to my family. When the opportunity arose here at York County, I saw it as a good fit to utilize my skills, and remain in Maine.

 

How long have you worked for county government, and in what capacities? What is your current title?

 

I have worked for the county for nine years, coming on board as the Human Resource Director. I am currently the Deputy County Manager / HR Director.

 

What did you do before joining York County Maine Government?

 

I worked in human resources in the private sector for many years.


What do you like most about your current job?


The opportunity to work with some great people. To work hard to ensure the mission of the county is met on all levels by assisting employees and department leaders alike.

 

When you’re not working, what do you like to do?


Genealogy is my passion! I have spent many hours wandering through cemeteries looking for long-lost relatives. I love exploring history either through movies, books, or wandering through museums. I enjoy hiking and kayaking when the weather is warm and spending as much time as I can with my family.
