Biography
Chief Deputy Forbes spent 25 years with the Maine State Police. During his time with the State Police, he was a K-9 handler, Pro-Active Criminal Enforcement Team Member, Troop Detective, D.E.A. Task Force Officer, and Field Training Officer. He was named Maine State Police Trooper of the Year on two occasions.
Chief Deputy Forbes has been at the York County Sheriff’s Office for almost 4 years and was named the Maine Sheriff’s Office Association Manager of the Year in 2023. He holds a bachelor's degree from Westfield State University in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology. Chief Deputy Forbes will complete his master’s degree this fall in Public Safety from the University of Virginia. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy, session #286.
Chief Deputy Forbes is a member of the State of Maine Motorcycle Safety Task Force as well as the York County Regional First Responder Training Center. He is also a program assessor for the Maine Law Enforcement Accreditation Program and holds a Chief Executive Certification from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy.
